The mission of Pupfish Press is to create a community of people from every generation who want to use the power of the word to make the planet a better place for us all.

Pupfish Press is Kristine Zeigler and Joseph McCrossen, partners in life and in sharing the written word. Kristine has worked on behalf of environmental and animal welfare organizations for nearly 30 years, including the San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, The Nature Conservancy, Conservation International, and the San Francisco Zoological Society. She is Co-founder of Planet Women, which partners with women to create a healthy planet for all life and Superbloom, a philanthropic fund dedicated to women climate and biodiversity leaders. An indie author and publisher, her previous books include Connor and the Love Left Behind: The Leaning Dog Who Changed Our Life and Cover This Country Like Snow and Other Stories. Kristine’s fiction and poetry have appeared in Indiana State University’s The Plane Tree journal, Forge Journal, The Bark, The Peregrine, Charles River Review, The Saint Ann’s Review, Barely South Review, The Ignatian Literary Magazine, and Menda City Review. Kristine was awarded writer residencies at the H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest in Oregon’s Cascade Mountains and the Vermont Studio Center in the Green Mountains.

Joe is Pupfish Press's Chief Financial Officer and strategy lead. With Kristine, he provides strategic management advice to Pupfish Press & Consulting clients. His knowledge of scenario-planning methodology and risk management tools help organizations navigate change and disruption. With expertise in research, interviewing, trends analysis, strategic planning, risk management, project management, organizational assessment, network analysis, process design, and process facilitation, Joe has fostered collaborative and fruitful partnerships for changemakers and leaders.
